Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of a middle European country lies a small unregarded village. Somewhere in a basement in this village is an utterly insignificant little band whose ape-descended life forms are so amazingly primitive that they still think making a CD in the third millenium a.d. is a pretty neat idea.
This band has – or rather had – a problem, which was this:
All its four members were good musicians in their own right, but as they also had spouses and kids and daytime jobs, it was hard to find time to do what they enjoyed more than anything else: write songs and play them to people.
Yet, over time they managed not only to play all kinds of events, but also to record and release two pretty decent albums. However, as the years went by and they found themselves with less and less time on their busy little hands, they were increasingly of the opinion that they’d all made a big mistake in trying to dedicate themselves to something as silly and time consuming as music in the first place.
Nevertheless, there were still so many songs waiting to be written – and being the primitive beasts that they were, they had to follow the urge and keep on doing what they did.
But this is not about their story. It is about an album.
The album they recorded in spite of the difficulties.
The album they released almost exactly 22 years after they first got together in 1996.*
* Inspired by Douglas Adams’
“The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy”
